We will also have our annual business meeting to elect officers the evening of August 29th. This meeting is extremely important to the operation of the church, so all members are requested to attend.

BEACON IS ALWAYS LOOKING FOR A FEW GOOD MEN!! Our Beacon men have always stepped up to care for the outside of the church, so if lawn care and trimming is your "bag", please sign up on the volunteer list in the church foyer. Your help is deeply appreciated.

Concerned about his son's future, a man decided to test the youngster. He put the lad in a room with only a Bible, an apple, and a five-dollar gold piece. If the boy sat down and read the Bible, a career in the ministry would be indicated. The boy would become a farmer if he ate the apple. A banking career would be suggested if the boy toyed with the money.
The boy was brought in. Sitting on the Bible, he chewed on the apple. After mulling it over, he put the coin in his pocket.
The man smiled.
His son would be a politician!
